Successful defense against DUI charge
07.04.2026Our client was charged with DUI. She was driving on the highway when she suddenly began swerving, drawing attention to her erratic driving. During a subsequent police stop, no evidence of alcohol consumption was found. However, there was suspicion that the use of sleep-inducing medication might have caused her to drive unsafely. Analysis of the blood sample revealed traces of such medication.
A conviction for DUI can result not only in a fine or imprisonment up to one year. The conviction usually goes along with the revocation of the driver's license.
Seeking assistance in this situation, the client turned to our law firm. After reviewing the files, we drafted a detailed statement in close consultation with her. In the statement, we argued that the impaired driving could not be unequivocally attributed to the use of medication.
The prosecution was convinced by our argument. They dismissed the case. Our client is overjoyed that she still has no criminal record and is allowed to keep her driver's license.
